GE HealthCare rolls out AI-driven Venue ultrasound systems

GE HealthCare has initiated its Venue Family point-of-care ultrasound systems with the new artificial intelligence (AI)-driven technology feature, Caption Guidance.

Part of the Verisound suite of technologies, Caption Guidance helps deliver real-time guidance to users for capturing cardiac images with diagnostic quality.

The scan guidance technology is designed to support clinicians in several practices and clinical settings, including anesthesiology, emergency departments and critical care wards.

It provides step-by-step instructions to clinicians on how to capture ultrasound images for cardiac assessments, enabling the early detection of heart disease signs in at-risk patients.

Furthermore, the company plans to incorporate this AI technology into other ultrasound systems, such as handheld systems, to improve access to diagnostic care.

GE Healthcare Ultrasound chief digital officer Karley Yoder said: “Within a few months of the Caption Health acquisition, we have successfully launched Caption Guidance as a powerful new guidance tool on our Venue Family ultrasound systems, enabling efficient and confident use of ultrasound at the point of care and strengthening our integrated products and solutions.
