GE HealthCare renews partnership with Hartford HealthCare in US

GE HealthCare has renewed its collaboration with US-based hospital group Hartford HealthCare, extending their partnership through 2030.

The Care Alliance, which began in 2016, focuses on advancing Hartford HealthCare’s mission to deliver personalised, coordinated, and high-quality care while reducing overall patient costs.

The agreement will enable Hartford HealthCare to upgrade its imaging technology through a phased approach.

This includes the purchase, deployment and redeployment of critical equipment such as CT, PET/CT, MRI, X-ray, mammography, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and the OEC 3D surgical imaging C-arm.

The update aims to keep the healthcare institution’s imaging technologies aligned with the latest advancements in software, artificial intelligence (AI), and future innovations.

The collaboration promises to provide enhanced patient access to GE HealthCare’s imaging technology, potentially offering shorter scan times, reduced waiting periods for care, and enabling clinicians to make more accurate diagnostic assessments.

GE HealthCare US and Canada president and CEO Catherine Estrampes said: “This strategic Care Alliance builds upon a successful first seven years and incorporates new elements that will help Hartford HealthCare stay current with our latest GE HealthCare technology as it continues to evolve, minimising technology obsolescence and optimising clinical capabilities now and in the future.

“We have seen many changes to the needs of healthcare over the last several years and collaborations like this enable us to work together with patient access and care, as well as clinician experience front of mind. It enables us to keep innovating together while continuing to explore additional potential opportunities.”

The agreement also encompasses GE HealthCare’s anaesthesia, patient monitoring, maternal infant care, and diagnostic cardiology technologies.

Many of the new imaging systems will incorporate tested AI and machine learning software to augment clinical expertise.

Critical Care Suite 2.0, a software solution helps clinicians by providing AI-powered insights and analytics for analysing medical images and detecting critical conditions such as collapsed lungs or errors in chest x-ray acquisitions, in real-time.

Additionally, Deep Learning Image Reconstruction, an image reconstruction system, utilises a Deep Neural Network to generate TrueFidelity CT Images.

Last month, GE HealthCare entered a three-year collaboration with MedQuest Associates to provide new medical device technology and digital tools for outpatient imaging centres.
